Firefighters battled a large blaze in Saint Paul Sunday afternoon that left a flooring business a total loss.
Crews responded to the scene at Fulton Flooring on the 300 block of Atwater Street and found heavy fire throughout the structure, with flames visible from all sides.
As the fire spread, the building’s roof collapsed around 1:20 p.m., prompting a 2nd alarm response. Despite the extensive damage, there have been no reported injuries. Authorities closed the immediate area to traffic and police secured nearby intersections.
Fire crews remained on site into the afternoon, working to extinguish hotspots and clear debris. Officials have confirmed the structure is a total loss and will need to be demolished before the day’s end. There is no word yet on the cause of the blaze.
