Robbinsdale Officer, 2 Others Hurt in Early Saturday Crash

Three people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries after a Robbinsdale police squad was struck by another driver early Saturday morning.

The crash happened around 2:22 a.m. at the intersection of County Road 81 and Lyndale Avenue North.

A fully marked Robbinsdale Police Department squad car was operating in emergency mode, with its emergency lights activated, according to the department.

The vehicle that struck the squad had two occupants, both of whom were transported to North Memorial Health Hospital with reportedly minor injuries. The officer driving the squad was also treated for minor injuries at the same hospital and released.

The Minnesota State Patrol is handling the investigation into the cause of the crash.
