Police Arrest Suspect in Deadly Brooklyn Center Hit-and-Run

Police say a 26-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run incident Thursday night in Brooklyn Center.

Officers were called to the 6800 block of Humboldt Avenue at 10:22 p.m. on Jan. 30 after reports of an unconscious male.

After they arrived, officers attempted life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators determined the man had been struck by a driver who fled the area.

The victim has been identified as a 26-year-old man, but his name has not yet been released as of publication. Brooklyn Center police are working with the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, the Minnesota State Patrol and the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Around 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31, Brooklyn Center police arrested an adult male suspect and recovered the vehicle believed to be involved, officials confirmed. The suspect has not yet been identified or formally charged.
