One Dead After Car Strikes Tree Near Brainerd

 

A 56-year-old man from Brainerd died Friday evening after his car left the road and struck a tree in Crow Wing County.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash happened around 6:50 p.m. on Highway 18, just east of County Road 144 in Oak Lawn Township.

Investigators say the man was driving a 2004 Honda Civic westbound when the vehicle veered off the road and hit a tree.

The State Patrol reported that no airbags deployed in the crash. Road conditions were dry at the time.

Responding agencies included the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Brainerd Fire Department, and North Memorial Ambulance.

The driver’s identity will be released at a later time, according to officials.
