Minneapolis Woman’s Beating Death Ruled Homicide

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner ruled Monday that a woman’s death in March at her Minneapolis condo was a homicide, caused by multiple blunt force injuries and neck compression.

Minneapolis police say on March 17, officers responded to conduct a welfare check at a residence on the 3100 block of W. Lake St. for a woman who hadn’t been heard from or seen in several days. Officers made entry into the residence and found 60-year-old Stephanie Katherine DeRousse deceased.

Officers indicated that the death appeared suspicious and called for homicide investigators to process the scene. Police say no arrests have been made as of Tuesday, but say there is considered no threat to the public.
