At around 5 a.m. on Jan. 10, 2026, officers with the Saint Anthony Police Department were dispatched to the Equinox Apartments at 2812 Silver Lane after receiving a report of a stabbing in a hallway.
When officers arrived, they found a man injured in the hallway and he was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. According to initial EMS radio dispatches, the man had a severe laceration to his neck.

Police also located a second victim, a juvenile male, also inside the building and with serious injuries. Paramedics transported him to an area hospital and authorities have not yet released an update on his condition as of publication.
Initial information from the scene indicated the suspect was believed to be inside an apartment in the same building. Based on those reports, officers secured the area and requested assistance from the Ramsey County SWAT team. Attempts were made to contact the suspect, but those efforts were unsuccessful. After the apartment was cleared, investigators determined the suspect had fled the scene before police arrived.
As the investigation continued, police learned the suspect may have left the Twin Cities metro area in a vehicle and was possibly heading north. An alert was sent to law enforcement agencies and a short time later, police located the suspect’s vehicle and engaged in a pursuit northeast of Duluth, taking the suspect into custody after a crash, short foot pursuit and Taser deployment.
Police have not released the identity of the man who was killed, the juvenile victim nor the suspect. No motive or additional suspect details have been made public.
Authorities say the investigation remains active and additional updates are expected as they become available.
