A jury has convicted a Fridley man of carrying out a triple homicide in Coon Rapids last year.
On Friday, jurors found 39-year-old Alonzo Pierre Mingo guilty on multiple counts of first-degree murder for the Jan. 26, 2024 killings of Mario Alberto Trejo Estrada, 39, Shannon Patricia Jungwirth, 42, and her son, 20-year-old Jorge Alexander Reyes-Jungwirth, inside their home on 94th Avenue NW.

The victims were each shot in the head during what investigators described as a robbery carried out under the guise of a package delivery.
Prosecutors said Mingo, a former UPS employee, arrived at the residence wearing a uniform shirt and vest, holding a cardboard box to appear as though he was making a delivery. Surveillance footage recovered from cameras inside the house captured him and two accomplices—identified by investigators as Omari Malik Shumpert and Demetrius Trenton Shumpert—forcing the three adults at gunpoint while two small children were present. The video showed Mingo fatally shooting Jungwirth at point-blank range in a bedroom before killing Reyes-Jungwirth near the front door. Estrada was shot by one of the accomplices during a struggle at the entryway.

Officers responding minutes later found all three victims dead, with the two children crying and moving through the home after witnessing the violence. No firearms were recovered inside, but investigators collected DNA, fingerprints, and video evidence tying Mingo to the crime. His vehicle, a navy blue Nissan Altima registered in his name, was captured on camera arriving at and leaving the home. He was arrested hours later in Fridley after a traffic stop in the same car. A UPS uniform and vest were found in his backpack, and his fingerprints matched those on the box carried into the house. Investigators also determined he had turned off his phone during the time of the murders and attempted to discard it when police stopped him.
A grand jury indictment charged Mingo with six counts of first-degree murder and additional counts of second-degree murder. Each of the top charges carries a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole.
Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 11. Trial dates for the Shumpert brothers, who also face 1st-degree murder charges connected to the killings, are scheduled for later this year.
