Half-Naked Man Accused of Damaging Saint Paul Apartments
BY MN CRIME STAFF
A 31-year-old man is accused of breaking into multiple Saint Paul apartment buildings while half-naked, attempting to clean himself up after soiling his clothing.
According to a criminal complaint, the incident occurred on Dec. 10, 2025, at about 6:04 p.m. at an apartment complex located at 262 Birmingham Street in Saint Paul.
Police were called for reports of a half-naked man destroying property. Officers made contact with the property manager, who said she encountered a man inside the maintenance shop wearing a green high-visibility top and nothing from the waist down. She told him to leave.

The man then walked to another building on the property and attempted to force his way inside, causing visible damage to the door frame. He next went to a second building and again tried unsuccessfully to enter. He then moved to the 262 building, broke the window on the door with his fist and crawled inside.
Officers located the man sitting inside the building near a heater without pants and took him into custody. He was identified as William Wesley Wright, of Stillwater.

During a post-Miranda interview, Wright told officers he had been working with a snow removal company and was riding in a truck with a co-worked when he needed to use the restroom. He said he defecated in his pants and was then removed from the vehicle by the co-worker. Wright told police he was trying to find a place to clean himself and get warm after being told to leave another building. He acknowledged that a reasonable person would have called police for assistance but said he did not and couldn’t explain why.
An estimate to repair the damaged doors and window placed the total cost at $1,750.
Wright is charged with first-degree damage to property, a felony alleging the damage reduced the value of the property by more than $1,000. If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison, a $10,000 fine or both.
