Brooklyn Center Man Charged in Major Cocaine Bust
BY MN CRIME STAFF
A Brooklyn Center man is facing multiple drug charges after investigators uncovered large quantities of cocaine, $11,000 in cash and evidence of drug sales.
The charges stem from a months-long investigation in Hennepin County that—on Thursday, Jan. 29—included traffic stops and searches of a home, vehicles and related properties tied to the suspect.
Tony Hui, 37, was arrested by Brooklyn Park police and booked into custody around 9:35 a.m. the next day. Jail records show he remains in custody with bail set at $75,000 with conditions. His next court appearance is set for 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 2 in downtown court.

According to the criminal complaint, investigators began monitoring Hui in November 2025 after observing repeated short-term hand-to-hand transactions at locations across Anoka and Hennepin counties. Officers reported the interactions often lasted only 15 to 20 seconds before Hui returned to the area of his residence.
On one occasion, a man was seen entering the front passenger seat of Hui’s vehicle and leaving moments later while placing a small item into his pants pocket, behavior investigators said was consistent with narcotics sales. Authorities also noted Hui frequently visited a restaurant associated with him located across the street from his home.
On Jan. 29, officers conducted a traffic stop on Hui’s vehicle at a Wells Fargo bank in Brooklyn Center. He was the sole occupant. During the search, officers reported finding about one gram of field-tested positive cocaine between the center console and the driver’s seat along with $5,630 in cash, drug paraphernalia, a digital scale and a large quantity of plastic baggies consistent with drug packaging and sales.

Search warrants were also executed at Hui’s residence and vehicles. Inside the home, investigators say they located more than 8 ounces of field-tested positive cocaine inside a kitchen cupboard. The countertop below appeared to be an area where cocaine was sifted, weighed and packaged.
Another 6.75 ounces of field-tested positive cocaine was recovered from a desk drawer in the living room near a Wells Fargo debit card bearing Hui’s name and a fantasy football championship belt labeled with his name. Officers also located $5,340 in cash hidden behind an entertainment center.
In an Acura RDX parked at the residence, officers reported finding about 2.6 grams of field-tested positive cocaine inside a plastic bag along with documents in Hui’s name and additional packaging materials. Cocaine was also located inside a Nissan Murano associated with Hui, though no quantity was listed in the court documents.
In total, investigators reported seizing approximately 422 grams—or just over 14.8 ounces—of field-tested positive cocaine, $10,970 in U.S. currency and drug paraphernalia including scales and baggies.
Hui is charged with two counts of first-degree drug sale and two counts of fifth-degree drug possession. Each first-degree drug sale charge carries a max sentence of up to 40 years in prison and fines of up to $1 million if convicted, while the fifth-degree charges each carry potential sentences of up to five years in prison.
