Austin Police Seek Driver After Early Morning Hit-and-Run
A 65-year-old man was seriously injured early Thursday morning when a driver struck him and fled in Austin.
Police say the collision happened just before 1 a.m. in the 500 block of East Oakland Avenue.

The man was reportedly walking with two dogs when he was hit. Austin Police say the vehicle did not stop, and the driver has not been located. Officers and paramedics responded and found the man with significant injuries. He was transported to the Mayo Clinic Health System for treatment.
One of the dogs appeared to be injured in the crash. The animals were taken by a responsible party, who told police the injured dog would be brought to a veterinarian.
Investigators have not released a description of the suspect vehicle. The Austin Police Department is asking anyone who may have seen the crash or has information about the driver to contact them at (507) 437-9400.
