Later that evening, at about 9:32 p.m., police were dispatched to the 3000 block of 22nd Avenue South on a report of another shooting. Short after arriving in the area, they found a man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
Through their initial investigation, police determined the victim had most likely been struck by gunfire during the earlier shooting near East Lake Street and Stevens Avenue but hadn’t realized at the time that he was injured, a MPD spokesperson said. Once he became aware of the wound, the victim had someone call 911.
