A Shakopee man repeatedly pressured a teenage girl from his church to send nude photos, then sexually assaulted her in his car after picking her up for a haircut, according to charges.
David Boamah Danso, 35, faces a charge of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct involving sexual contact with a minor.
According to the complaint, the victim and her parents reported to Shakopee police in late March 2026 that Danso, who served as her youth minister at a Burnsville church, began contacting her in May 2024. The victim said Danso asked for her phone number and started daily conversations, eventually telling her he was in love with her and asking for nude photos.

The victim told investigators she was nervous to send the images because she knew Danso was married and in his 30s, but eventually sent them after repeated requests.
The complaint states that on February 7, 2026, Danso asked the victim to accompany him while he got a haircut. He picked her up at her home in Shakopee and drove to a barbershop in Savage. While driving, Danso put his hand on the victim’s thigh.
When the victim told him to stop, Danso then put his hand on her shoulder and moved his hand inside her shirt, engaging in sexual contact with her. The victim told Danso she did not like it and moved his hand away. She made clear she never consented to being touched.
After the barbershop visit, the victim and Danso did not meet in person again, but continued to communicate for several weeks. The victim told police Danso used multiple phone numbers and messaging apps, including WhatsApp, to contact her. The victim and her parents later brought her cellphone to Burnsville police, who determined that the nude images had been sent from her home in Shakopee.
Investigators executed a search warrant on the victim’s phone and recovered WhatsApp messages in which Danso asked for nude photos and pressured her not to delete them. In one message, Danso wrote, “The entire body,” when the victim asked what kind of photo he wanted. Police later searched Danso’s residence and seized electronic devices, finding multiple messaging and social media apps.
The charge was filed Wednesday, September 23.
