Two drivers died after a crash late Wednesday night at a Highway 52 intersection southeast of Rochester, the Minnesota State Patrol says.
Samuel A. Hernandez, 62, of Chicago, was driving a 2015 Jeep Cherokee and was pronounced dead at the scene. Devon Peri Williams, 40, of Preston, was driving a 2013 Ford Explorer and died after being taken to St. Marys Hospital.
The crash happened around 11:45 p.m. on June 10 at Highway 52 and County Road 7 Southeast in Orion Township, according to the State Patrol. Hernandez was driving south on Highway 52 and Williams was driving north when the two vehicles collided at County Road 7.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, and airbags in both vehicles deployed. Road conditions were wet at the time. Alcohol was not suspected for Williams and alcohol test results for Hernandez are pending as of publication.
The State Patrol did not say what led to the collision.
The Chatfield Fire Department, Chatfield Ambulance, Mayo Clinic Ambulance, Rochester Fire Department, Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office and Rochester Towing assisted the State Patrol.
