A 41-year-old man is facing multiple felony charges after a domestic incident in which he allegedly threatened a woman with a firearm and stole her vehicle.
The incident occurred on April 20, 2026, at a residence located on the 5700 block of Sander Drive in Minneapolis.
Jacob Benjamin McBride, of Minneapolis, faces charges including first-degree burglary with assault, first-degree aggravated robbery, threats of violence with reckless disregard for risk and felony domestic assault.
According to the charges filed May 6, officers were dispatched to the residence after getting a report of a domestic assault. They spoke with the victim, who said that McBride had broken into her home and threatened her with a firearm.
The victim said McBride was furious when she refused to let him access one of her vehicles. Fearing for her safety, she had stayed at a friend’s home the night before the incident.

The victim recounted that after entering her bedroom, she found McBride inside. She began to scream, hoping neighbors would hear her. McBride allegedly pulled out a firearm, pointed it at her head and threatened to pistol-whip her if she didn’t stop screaming.
He allegedly pursued her around the house while continuing to threaten her life. McBride then forcibly took her car keys from her sweatshirt pocket and left in her vehicle.
The victim was visibly distraught when speaking to officers, shaking and crying, the court documents say, and expressed her fear that McBride would kill her. The complaint notes that McBride is currently on supervised release and has an active warrant for prior convictions related to burglary and assault, including a 2018 incident where he pointed a firearm at a woman and a 2016 incident involving strangulation and assault of an ex-girlfriend.
McBride is not yet in custody on these charges and a court date has not yet been set. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison and a $35,000 fine on the felony burglary and aggravated robbery charges.
