2 Juveniles Dead, 2 Injured in Southern Minn. Buggy Crash

The two juveniles killed and two others injured in a crash between a passenger vehicle and an Amish buggy in Fillmore County on Monday morning have been identified as siblings.

According to Fillmore County Sheriff John DeGeorge, a 911 caller reported the crash on Fillmore County Road 1 near the intersection of County Road 102 near Sumner Center on Monday morning just before 8:30 a.m.

The crash investigation indicates that a southbound 2005 Toyota 4Runner SUV, driven by 35-year-old Sarah Petersen from Spring Valley, collided with the buggy carrying the four juvenile passengers.

7-year-old Wilma Miller and 11-year-old Irma Miller were both fatally injured in the crash. 9-year-old Alan Miller and 13-year-old Rose Miller were transported to St. Mary’s Hospital by ambulance where their current condition is not known. All the siblings were residents of rural Stewartville.

According to the media release, no arrests have been made at this time and the cause of the crash continues to be investigated with assistance from the Minnesota State Patrol.
