Jared Kenneth Sprunk was charged in Wright County District Court with third-degree criminal sexual conduct involving penetration and coercion and fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Prosecutors say the man was on conditional release after being charged with first-degree armed carjacking for an incident in Minneapolis last September.

The shooting happened Aug. 11, 2023, during a backyard concert on the 2200 block of 16th Avenue South, where dozens of people had gathered for a performance described by witnesses as an LGBTQ-friendly community event.

The new indictments dramatically expand a case that federal authorities say crossed the line from protest into criminal interference with religious worship.

The incident happened just after 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, when officers were called to Hennepin County Medical Center after a man arrived seeking treatment for a stabbing that investigators say occurred on a bus along Chicago Avenue.

Investigators say the man was upset over state-mandated business closures and demanded money he claimed to have lost during the COVID shutdown.

The arrest happened after Airport Police officers conducting parcel interdiction at a UPS sorting facility in Maple Grove identified a suspicious package addressed to a home in the 5300 block of France Avenue North.

During the arrest, authorities say the officer was accidentally stabbed by a knife protruding from the man’s pocket during a struggle.

The investigation began Feb. 13 after police were contacted by a Best Buy supervisor who reported an employee discovered illegal material while remotely assisting a customer with a device issue.

The fire was reported around 10:46 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, in the 3200 block of Penn Avenue North, where officers were responding to a ShotSpotter activation as firefighters were simultaneously dispatched.

Authorities allege Michael John Rojas, 55, who has no permanent address, arranged for the shipment to be delivered to a home along Hawthorne Avenue East in Saint Paul on Feb. 20.

Prosecutors charged Darlington Darcious Taye, 23, of Saint Paul, with reckless discharge of a firearm within a municipality, a felony punishable by up to two years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
