An adult male victim was found in the parking garage with gunshot wounds to his abdomen and upper thigh. The criminal complaint says he remains in critical condition.
Officers responded to the building after a report of shots fired and located two discharged shell casings near the victim. Investigators pulled surveillance footage that captured the moments leading up to the shooting and showed the victim walking through a stairwell with a woman. As they reached the second floor, she opened the door to the hallway. Davis was seen waiting on the other side of the door and rushed through, ambushing the victim, the charges say.

Police say Davis pistol-whipped, punched and kicked the man for several minutes while holding him at gunpoint and forcing him down the stairs. When they reached the parking level, Davis allegedly shot the victim in the back before fleeing.
The woman was identified by apartment management as a 19-year-old a resident on the fifth floor. According to the complaint, she gave conflicting statements but ultimately told police Davis was her boyfriend and she had brought the victim to the building knowing Davis planned to confront him.
Davis has not yet been located. A nationwide warrant has been issued and police say he is considered armed and dangerous.
Davis is charged with attempted second-degree murder. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison.
