Court records show law enforcement executed a search warrant at an apartment in the 300 block of Logan Avenue North, while targeting Torrence Gray as part of a drug trafficking investigation. Investigators say Torrence Gray came to the door when officers entered the unit, while Dominic Gray was located inside a northeast bedroom. Two women were also inside the apartment, along with animals described by investigators as severely neglected.
During the search, officers reported recovering drugs and firearms throughout the residence. In the northeast bedroom, where Dominic Gray was found, investigators say they located a 9mm handgun with a loaded magazine under the bed, boxes of ammunition and approximately 62.6 grams of psilocybin mushrooms on a shelf. Additional ammunition was recovered from the kitchen area, according to the complaint.
In the southwest bedroom, which prosecutors allege belonged to Torrence Gray, investigators say they found mail in his name, multiple cell phones, cocaine, methamphetamine, several firearms and a gray backpack containing thousands of pills that field-tested as methamphetamine. The complaint estimates the pills weighed more than 4,500 grams and totaled roughly 18,000 pills. Officers also reported finding loaded firearms under furniture, extended magazines and additional drugs packaged in amounts investigators say were consistent with sales rather than personal use.

After being advised of his rights, Torrence Gray agreed to speak with investigators. Prosecutors allege he admitted the southwest bedroom was his, acknowledged possessing the firearms and told investigators he bought them off the street. He admitted knowing about the pills but claimed he was holding them for someone else. According to the complaint, he also admitted using and selling drugs and said he knew he was prohibited from possessing firearms due to prior convictions.
Dominic Gray also agreed to speak with investigators after being advised of his rights. According to the complaint, he admitted knowing a pistol was under his bed but claimed it had been left there by his sister after drinking days earlier. He told investigators the mushrooms belonged to him and said he uses them. He denied ownership of some of the ammunition, claiming it belonged to a former roommate.
Torrence Gray is charged with first-degree aggravated controlled substance crime involving methamphetamine and a firearm, first-degree drug sale involving cocaine or methamphetamine and felony possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person convicted of a crime of violence. The most serious charges carry maximum penalties of up to 40 years in prison. Court records show a judge issued a warrant and set bail at $500,000.
Dominic Gray is charged separately with second-degree possession of a controlled substance and possessing ammunition or a firearm while being an unlawful user of a controlled substance. The felony drug charge carries a maximum sentence of up to 25 years in prison.
