Minneapolis Woman’s Beating Death Ruled Homicide

Minneapolis police say on March 17, officers responded to conduct a welfare check at a residence on the 3100 block of W. Lake St. for a woman who hadn’t been heard from or seen in several days. Officers made entry into the residence and found 60-year-old Stephanie Katherine DeRousse deceased.

1 Dead, 1 Injured in North Minneapolis Crash

Minneapolis police are investigating a one-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon that left one man dead and another man with injuries near Lyndale Ave. N. & 51st Ave. N. MPD says around 3 p.m., police were dispatched near the intersection and found one adult male outside of the vehicle and another male still inside. The man still inside the vehicle was dead at the scene, police say.

Man Killed in Early Saturday Saint Paul Shooting

Saint Paul police have confirmed a shooting early Saturday morning on the 1000 block of Pacific St. in the city's Dayton's Bluff neighborhood was fatal and is being investigated as a homicide. According to initial dispatches, officers were sent shortly before 2:40 a.m. to the residence after multiple 911 callers reported gunshots were fired and that a male was shot.

Burnsville Felon Accused of Selling 3D-Printed Gun Switches

According to court documents, in March 2023, federal agents received information that Benjamin Jehle Zwack, 29, an employee at a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) business, was selling 3D-printed gun conversion devices, commonly known as “switches” or “auto sears.” These devices enable firearms to be fired as a fully automatic weapon by a single function of the trigger and qualify as “machineguns” under federal law.

Man Found Guilty in Shakopee Beheading

A Scott County judge has found 44-year-old Alexis Saborit guilty of decapitating his girlfriend with a machete and dumping her body near downtown Shakopee. Saborit was found guilty of 1st-degree premeditated murder in the July 2021 killing of America Thayer, 55. A Scott County judge made the ruling Thursday, May 11 after a stipulated facts trial. Saborit had earlier waived his right to a jury trial.

Man Charged in Fatal Woodbury Overdose

Woodbury police were called to a residence on Sunbury Alcove on March 27 around noon for a report of a man found not breathing. Officers arrived and found the 22-year-old deceased in the basement bedroom. According to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner, the man’s cause of death was said to be fentanyl toxicity.

The State Patrol responded to the crash around 11:30 a.m. Troopers say 37-year-old Bryan Adam Schreiner, of Lauderdale, was traveling southbound on Interstate 35 before driving onto the right shoulder, overcorrecting and sliding sideways before entering the median ditch, causing the vehicle to roll.

Minneapolis police say one man is dead and another man suffering serious injuries after crashing a stolen motorcycle near the intersection of Hiawatha Ave. & E. 26th St. around 1:45 a.m., Tuesday morning. Police say their preliminary investigation shows that the motorcyclist was traveling westbound on E. 26th St., crossing Hiawatha when he went through a red light and struck another vehicle in the intersection.
