Washington County Crash Involving Semi Leaves One Critically Injured
A man from Wisconsin suffered life-threatening injuries in a three-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in Washington County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash was reported just before 2:00 p.m. on May 14 at the intersection of Highway 95 and 70th Street in Denmark Township.

Initial information from State Patrol indicates a semi truck was traveling north on Highway 95 when it struck a 2011 GMC Sierra that was eastbound on 70th Street. The force of the crash pushed the pickup truck into another vehicle, a 2004 GMC Sierra, which had been stopped in the southbound lanes.

The driver of the 2011 GMC Sierra, 48-year-old Shane Joseph Loughney of Woodville, Wisconsin, was transported to Regions Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Authorities have not said whether alcohol or impairment played a role in the crash. Loughney was wearing a seat belt, and the airbags in his vehicle deployed.

The semi truck was a 2022 Freightliner Cascadia driven by 27-year-old Gurusevak Singh of Indianapolis, Indiana. He was taken to Regina Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He was also belted and was not believed to be under the influence of alcohol, according to the incident report.
The third driver, 20-year-old Thomas Arnold Dorschner of Hastings, was not hospitalized and sustained injuries described as non-life-threatening. He was also wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
A crash reconstruction expert was requested due to the severity of the incident. State Patrol was assisted at the scene by Cottage Grove Police, Cottage Grove Fire and EMS, the Washington County Sheriff's Office, and Hastings Fire and EMS.
No charges or citations have been announced, and authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
