Organizers say more than 50,000 people took part in the downtown march, which was the largest of the coordinated demonstrations across the metro.

DHS head Kristi Noem described the incident Sunday, Jan. 18 as involving an “anti-ICE mob” who targeted the church, accusing the group of crossing the line from protected speech into unlawful conduct.

According to Minneapolis police, the incident happened around 7 p.m. on Jan. 10 as officers monitored a group moving along East Lake Street.

With an estimated 3,000 demonstrators, speakers at the park called for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to leave Minnesota as the crowd held signs and chanted Renee Good’s name.

Around 4:39 p.m., demonstrators reportedly entered the administrative building on the East Bank, damaged property and stopped people from entering or exiting. Authorities asked those inside to leave the building and urged others to stay away.
