Sources report two police officers and a paramedic were shot and killed this morning after a standoff suspect opened fire on officers inside a home around 5:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

Karl Thomas Holmberg, 64, faces multiple charges after he allegedly opened fire on task force officers who were attempting to serve a search warrant at his home near Princeton early Thursday morning.

According to court documents, on March 1 around 7:30 p.m., the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an unresponsive five‐month‐old child. Initial reports indicated that Aaron Michael Orlando Rathke and the child’s mother had driven their son to the Fridley Police Department after he had stopped breathing at their home earlier that evening.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office says a 78-year-old Duluth man died Friday in a crash in the city of Rice Lake. Crews were called to the intersection of Martin Road near Woodland Avenue on a report of the crash just before 8:45 a.m.

One young woman was killed and two others were injured in a shooting in Saint Paul’s Greater East Side neighborhood on Wednesday night, police have confirmed. At about 7:45 p.m., officers responded to the area of Hazelwood Street and Maryland Avenue East after multiple 911 callers and an officer on patrol reported hearing shots fired in the area.

Roseville police say three people are dead and one is critically injured after an incident around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning. According to a media release, Roseville Police were called to an apartment building on the 1600 block of Eldridge Avenue at 2:24 a.m. on a welfare check.

Montevideo police are investigating after a man was found dead with a stab wound in the parking lot of the post office in the 300 block of 1st Street early Monday morning. The man was found by a postal worker around 6:30 a.m. and his name has not yet been released as of Tuesday.

On the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 12, the Eden Prairie Police Department responded to a call on Lee Drive to check on the welfare of an adult male who was reported to be in distress.

Deputies responded to the area after an automated 911 call from an iPhone relaying that the owner had been in a severe crash. Deputies found two occupants of the vehicle deceased at the scene, with the driver still trapped inside and critically injured. The driver was airlifted to a nearby hospital and is currently in stable condition.

Minneapolis police have confirmed that a total of eight people were injured in a shooting just before 6 p.m. Sunday near E. Franklin Ave. & Chicago Ave., with apparent automatic gunfire sprayed by two different shooters.

Minneapolis Police say one man was killed and six other people were injured in a shooting on the 2200 block of 16th Ave. S. late Friday night. Police were called to the residence around 10:15 p.m., and upon arriving found a large crowd gathered outside with multiple people shot.

In a press release, police say the 7-year veteran was following a vehicle that had fled from officers the day before and matched the description of a vehicle involved in a robbery. The officer was following the vehicle when shots were fired from the suspect’s vehicle towards the officer. The officer was struck by automatic gunfire and suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Saint Paul police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 12-year-old boy early this morning on the 200 block of Stinson St. and a 14-year-old boy has been arrested. Officers were called just before 5 a.m. for a juvenile male who had been shot. When officers arrived, they located the 12-year-old who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Police have confirmed that one man was killed and another man was injured Saturday morning in a stabbing in the Highland Park neighborhood of Saint Paul. Officers were called around 9:30 a.m. to the 1100 block of Bowdoin St. S. on the report of a stabbing. They found two adult males with stab wounds at the scene.

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office says a 31-year-old Canadian man died Friday morning while scuba diving with another person at Pike Lake. Emergency responders were called to the Pike Lake Public Access in Canosia Township around 10:30 a.m. for a report of a man who had gone underwater.

Minneapolis Police say a man died after being shot early Friday morning in south Minneapolis. Officers were called just before 5:30 a.m. to the intersection of Nicollet Ave. and Cecil Newman Lane on a report of a possible overdose. When officers arrived, they found a man in his 30s, unresponsive, and police determined that the man had been shot.

The Chisago County Sheriff’s Office says a man is expected to survive after falling down a cliff more than 50 feet near the Saint Croix River in Franconia Township Wednesday afternoon. Emergency crews were called around 2 p.m. to the bluff. When they arrived, crews called for mutual aid from the Taylors Falls and St Croix Falls Fire Departments for specialized technical rescue equipment.

An 18-year-old Saint Paul woman faces a felony charge for negligent fires after allegedly causing an apartment unit to burn, displacing 30 residents earlier this month. According to the criminal complaint, on July 8th, 18-year-old Aisha Wali Abdulle was on her way to a party with a group of friends when they stopped at the apartment building so one of them could grab some items from inside.
