During the arrest, authorities say the officer was accidentally stabbed by a knife protruding from the man’s pocket during a struggle.

Authorities say an officer located the man one block north of where the original call was reported. As the officer attempted to detain him, the man actively resisted and stabbed the officer.

The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man who died during the Feb. 10 use-of-force incident as 30-year-old Donald Felver III, of Duluth.

Authorities say the suspect fled the homicide scene and was later killed during an exchange of gunfire with deputies after a pursuit on Grand Avenue around 9:40 p.m.

The shooting happened around 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, in the 400 block of Piedmont Avenue, where officers found a man dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office deputies say a snowmobile crashed while negotiating a sharp corner, leaving the passenger seriously injured. Authorities said the driver didn’t require medical care.

The incident was reported early Jan. 27 when a correctional officer conducting wellness checks located 35-year-old Darrin Tiessen unresponsive in a single-occupant cell around 1:05 a.m.

The blast displaced eight residents from their homes and prompted a large emergency response from multiple agencies.

The victim reported that Jawara grabbed her, threw her to the ground, and began pulling out chunks of her hair.

A 60-year-old bicyclist was killed Wednesday evening after being struck by two vehicles, according to police.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office says a man in his 50s was airlifted to a Duluth hospital following an ATV crash in Alango Township on Saturday afternoon.

Crews were called to the 8300 block of Pequaywan Lake Road, about 25 miles north of Duluth in an unorganized township after the US Air Force received an aircraft beacon alarm. A spotter plane in the area observed possible wreckage on the ground and guided deputies to the location. Upon arrival, deputies found both the pilot and the passenger deceased.

Chase Dayton Covington, 20, of Duluth, was seen on video surveillance assaulting a man with a baseball bat on April 9. According to the criminal complaint filed, a man had just left the Fond-du-Luth Casino and was walking down the sidewalk when Covington approached him and asked him for money.

A Duluth man faces four felony charges for allegedly cutting copper cables from power poles in Saint Louis County. Aaron Alan Horn, 30, of Duluth had been suspected of numerous copper wire thefts where cables owned by CenturyLink were cut from power lines, causing service issues for customers in the area.

The Saint Louis County Sheriff’s Office says investigators arrested 48-year-old Clint Massie, of Grand Lake Township, on four counts of 2nd-degree criminal sexual conduct on Friday. Massie made a court appearance today and is being held on $300,000 bail.
