On October 23, 2025, at approximately 7:00 P.M. Officers from the Farmington Police Department received a report of threats made via text message at an apartment building located on the 1000 block of 3rd Street in Farmington, Dakota County, MN. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the reporting party who stated that she received several concerning messages from DOUGLAS HENRY LARSON [DOB REDACTED], the Defendant herein, who resided with her at the apartment building. The reporting party showed officers the messages she received.
Some of the messages state the following: “Now you know why things need to go boom. Have a good life coz it’s my turn to have fun and sorry the innocents lost coz of you.” “Hell I still got 2 pounds of black powder and a way to make it go boom. Maybe I take me out and anyone around me.” “I don’t like the thought of hurting ppl,” “But if they want a game I’ss start playing and I got nothing to louse,” “and I’m afraid of my self right not.” “And I’m out to kill the figments,” “Remember the figment are real people, I just say its’s there shadow so I don’t hurt anyone.” The reporting party was afraid after receiving these messages.
Officers spoke to the Defendant who stated that someone was messing with him and that no one should have received those messages. The Defendant stated that he was speaking of killing figments of his imagination, but then questioned officers if it would hurt if he shot their shadow. The Defendant stated he is not taking his medications and does not want to.
