On April 1, 2026, in Burnsville, Dakota County, Minnesota, JAVONTE KODY BOWMAN ([DOB redacted]) assaulted his girlfriend in her apartment. The two were in a vehicle together earlier that day when his girlfriend received a call from another man. BOWMAN did not like that his girlfriend received this call, and an argument followed. The two returned to the girlfriend’s apartment. During the argument, BOWMAN grabbed his girlfriend by the shirt and used it to move her around the apartment. The girlfriend tried to push him away, and, in doing so inadvertently pushed his face.
This made BOWMAN angrier, so he put both hands around his girlfriend’s neck and squeezed for approximately 30 seconds. The girlfriend began having trouble breathing and described herself as feeling "loopy" as a result of the strangulation. Eventually, BOWMAN let go of his girlfriend’s neck and the argument proceeded into another room in the house. There, he slammed his girlfriend’s head into the door frame, into the corner of the hallway wall, and headbutted her himself. Photographs taken on the day of the assault show significant swelling on the girlfriends’ lips and forehead.
Law enforcement documented blood found on the walls of the apartment. The victim feared retaliation if she reported this crime. Bowman left Minnesota on April 12, 2026, and told the victim he was going on a trip to Wisconsin—the victim then called the police. Law enforcement has been unable to locate BOWMAN and his whereabouts are unknown. Accordingly, we request that a warrant be issued for BOWMAN’s arrest.
