Probable Cause
On March 21, 2026, officers were dispatched to a residence located in the City of Farmington, County of Dakota, State of Minnesota, for a domestic assault in progress. Upon arrival, officers met with the victims who stated that their adult son, later identified as Austin Matthew Lazaretti [DOB REDACTED] (hereinafter Defendant), was intoxicated and had swung a sickle at them. Both victims were very upset when speaking with law enforcement on scene. The victims stated that the Defendant was intoxicated when he returned home to the residence with his girlfriend.
A verbal argument ensued when the victims told the Defendant that his girlfriend was not allowed at their residence. Defendant became very angry and demanded that the male victim [NAME REDACTED]. Defendant then went to his bedroom and came out wielding the sickle. The victims were not injured but the Defendant did cause damage to the walls and doors of the residence while wielding the sickle. A chandelier was also broken during the incident and pieces of glass were observed on the floor. A wooden 9-inch blade (sickle) was located on the floor of the entryway.
Defendant was located in a cul-de-sac near the residence. Defendant smelled strongly of an alcoholic beverage, had bloodied hands, and superficial cuts to his hands.
