On March 14, 2026, at approximately 5:00 A.M., officers were called to the report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in the City of Burnsville, County of Dakota, State of Minnesota. Officers responded and were able to hear yelling while standing outside before contacting Victim 1. Victim 1 told officers that she, Witness 1, and ANIYAH JOYCE CARTER-JOSEY [DOB REDACTED] all lived at the residence together. That morning, Victim 1 and Witness 1 were cleaning up the house from an incident where officers were previously called out to the residence when CARTER-JOSEY became upset.
CARTER-JOSEY began swinging her arms at Victim 1 indicating she wanted to fight. Victim 1 stated that CARTER-JOSEY then grabbed a kitchen knife and told Victim 1 “bitch, I’m finna kill you, I’m finna kill you” and “I’m finna stab you, hoe.” Victim 1 told officers that she was afraid that CARTER-JOSEY would stab her and believed, but for Witness 1 being between them, CARTER-JOSEY would have stabbed her. Witness 1 was able to take the knife away from CARTER-JOSEY who then began fighting with Victim 1. During that fight, CARTER-JOSEY pulled out chunks of Victim 1’s hair.
Victim 1 and CARTER-JOSEY were eventually separated before officers arrived. While speaking with Victim 1, officers located hair on the floor of the residence appearing to match Victim 1’s hair. Officers spoke to Witness 1 who stated that she and Victim 1 were upstairs when Victim 1 and CARTER-JOSEY got into a verbal argument. During that argument, CARTER-JOSEY grabbed Victim 1 by the hair and threw a punch at her. Witness 1 was able to get between them and break it up, but CARTER- JOSEY and Victim 1 got into a second physical fight shortly after.
When Witness 1 was able to separate that fight, CARTER-JOSEY went downstairs and returned with a knife. CARTER-JOSEY then made a comment about Victim 1 being too big to fight and then stated “bitch, I’ll stab you.” Witness 1 was able to convince CARTER-JOSEY to put the knife down and officers were called. Witness 1 told officers that CARTER-JOSEY, despite being underage, drinks alcohol and gets out of control. After placing CARTER-JOSEY under arrest, officers obtained a preliminary breath test sample from her, which came back at 0.186 breath alcohol concentration with a weak sample provided.
