Donald Lamonte Belle

At approximately 3:46 PM on April 3rd, 2026, officers from the Cottage Grove Police Department noticed a vehicle with expired tabs that was weaving across lane lines in the area of Hardwood Avenue and Hardwood Ct, in the City of Cottage Grove, within Washington County. Officers initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as DONALD LAMONTE BELLE [DOB REDACTED], the defendant. Officers immediately noted the defendant smelled strongly of alcohol, and observed an open bottle of tequila and two crack pipes in plain view inside the vehicle.

The defendant admitted he had consumed alcohol and smoked crack earlier in the day. The defendant then failed several field sobriety tests. During a search incident to arrest, officers located a small baggie in the defendant's sweatshirt pocket which contained 2.8 grams of a powdery rock substance that would later test positive for cocaine.
