On October 8, 2025, members of the Minnesota Department of Corrections Fugitive Unit went to an area in the City of West Saint Paul, Dakota County, Minnesota, where they determined the above-named defendant, Dustin Spencer Casey, might be. The defendant was wanted on an outstanding warrant. At approximately 10:48 A.M., the defendant and three other individuals were observed leaving a residence and walking toward a vehicle. The Minnesota Department of Corrections Fugitive Unit converged on the defendant in the parking lot and ordered him to the ground.
The defendant eventually laid down on the ground and began digging with his left hand in his left pocket. A large plastic bag containing a white crystal substance, a second bag of a white crystal substance, and a bag of a green leafy material were later removed from the defendant’s left pants pocket. The contents of both bags containing the white crystal substance were preliminarily tested, and the test indicated the presence of methamphetamine in each bag. The contents of each bag were weighed. The contents of one bag weighed 12.1 grams and the other bag 26.1 grams, for a total of 38.2 grams of methamphetamine.
The contents of one of the bags was tested at the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and that test indicated the presence of methamphetamine in that one bag. The contents of that bag were also weighed at the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and the net weight was 25.794 grams.
