Probable Cause
On January 31, 2026, officers of the Apple Valley Police Department were on patrol in the City of Apple Valley, Dakota County, Minnesota, when they observed a vehicle driven by an individual who was identified to have active warrants. Officers observed the individual, later identified as Daniel James Moore, born on [DOB REDACTED], park the vehicle he was driving and enter a local store. Officers waited for Mr. Moore to exit the store and then contacted him, at which point Mr. Moore stated that his name was “Jake Coy.” The officer informed Mr. Moore that he needed to stay and talk with the officer due to the active warrants.
Mr. Moore then fled and entered his vehicle, which was nearby, before leaving the parking lot. The officer activated his emergency lights and observed Mr. Moore made no attempts to stop and left the scene without stopping at a stop sign.
