On July 29, 2025, at approximately 3:00 P.M. Officers from the Eagan Police Department received a report of property damage at a group home located on the 1300 block of Cleome Lane in Eagan, Dakota County, MN. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the group home staff and learned that BAILEY ARLEN PEDERSON [DOB REDACTED], the Defendant herein had damaged some vehicles because he was drunk and upset with a staff member. The Defendant threw rocks at the cars, hit them with a broomstick and threw a chair at one of the vehicles.
The Defendant also caused some damage inside the home. The Defendant damaged a 2021 Toyota Rav4 (MN LIC #GXF827), belonging to the Director, causing $1,099.99 worth of damage. The Defendant also damaged a 2024 gray Chevrolet Malibu (MN LIC # RAX712), a car that was rented by the manager, causing damage. The owner of this vehicle no longer worked for the company and did not provide an estimate of the damage. The Defendant damaged a third vehicle, a 2020 Toyota Camry (MN LIC # ZAC664), belonging to the group home, causing $5,227.52 worth of damage.
A previous estimate had been received just to replace the windshield for $787.63. Some of the scratches and damage to the bumper were not known to have been caused by the Defendant. Multiple staff members mentioned a chair being thrown at the vehicle and hitting the top of the vehicle. The total damage caused to all three cars was over $1,000.00. Officers spoke to several staff members who stated that the Defendant was angry and damaging the vehicles. One officer located that Defendant walking away from the home.
The Defendant eventually stopped and told officers that he was upset because certain staff members would be at a group home meeting, and he did not like them. He admitted to drinking and acknowledged that he caused the damage.
