On November 12, 2025, officers with the Inver Grove Heights police department responded to a business on the 7800 block of Cahill Avenue in the City of Inver Grove Heights, County of Dakota, Minnesota, for a report of a theft. Officers spoke with an employee of the store who explained that two males filled shopping carts with merchandise from the store, then pushed past him after a struggle for the carts at the self-checkout and left the store with a third male and the carts full of unpaid for merchandise.
The business provided an itemized list of the stolen items. The total value of the items stolen came to $1,544.34. Management confirmed that the males did not have permission or authority to remove the items from the store without paying for them. After positively identifying one of the males who took the shopping carts full of merchandise from the store as Kenny Ladell Bankhead, [DOB REDACTED], officers arranged to meet with him to obtain a statement. When shown a surveillance photo from the incident, Bankhead stated, “it’s me.” Bankhead admitted to taking the items from the store without paying for them and loading them into his vehicle.
Bankhead denied knowing who the two other male individuals were that were with him at the time of the theft.
