On March 24, 2026, officers of the Eagan Police Department responded an apartment complex located in the City of Eagan, Dakota County, Minnesota, for a report of a disturbance. Officers were informed by a third party that Quiante Devian Ferguson, born on [DOB REDACTED], was banging on the apartment door of his girlfriend, Victim 1, and that he had assaulted Victim 1 earlier in the day. Officers arrived and spoke to Victim 1, who stated that Mr. Ferguson had been present at her apartment earlier and was banging on the door but that she did not let him into the apartment.
Victim 1 reported that there had been a disagreement earlier and that Mr. Ferguson had grabbed her by her arms and attempted to get a phone away from her. After this, he followed her out of the room where that occurred and put two hands around her neck. Victim 1 reported that this restricted her breathing and that she recalled gasping for air and her vision going black. Victim 1 also reported that Mr. Ferguson lifted her off the ground before she was able to break free. Victim 1 reported that after this she told Mr. Ferguson to leave and he called her several names before throwing food and punching a hole in the bedroom wall.
Victim 1 then locked herself in the bathroom, and Mr. Ferguson broke the door handle to force entry into the bathroom. Officers documented this damage. While talking to Victim 1, officers noted that Mr. Ferguson was repeatedly attempting to video call her. Officers answered the phone and noted Mr. Ferguson’s position, and he was arrested nearby.
