On December 31, 2025, at approximately 10:38 P.M., officers were dispatched to perform a welfare check at an intersection located in Mendota Heights, Dakota County, Minnesota. An officer arrived at the location and observed a vehicle stopped in the opposing lane of traffic with its vehicle in the snow along the curb. The officer approached and tried to communicate with the driver. The driver struggled to follow commands but eventually put his vehicle in park. The driver was identified as JERIME BRYAN WADE [DOB REDACTED]. The officer smelled the odor of alcohol coming from WADE and observed that his speech was slurred.
WADE also had bloodshot and glossy eyes. When the officer asked WADE how much he had to drink, WADE replied, “A lot.” WADE declined to participate in field-sobriety tests. He took a preliminary breath test which revealed he was over the legal limit, so the officer arrested him. The officer read WADE the Breath Test Advisory and gave him the opportunity to contact an attorney. WADE submitted to a breath test at 12:02 A.M., and the result was 0.21. WADE has three prior felony DWI convictions from 2009, 2011, and 2018.
