Anthony James Johnson

On February 17, 2025, Anthony James Johnson [DOB REDACTED], “Defendant” herein, provided his cell phone to an Apple Valley detective as part of the criminal sexual conduct investigation in court file 19HA-CR-25-736. Defendant provided the phone and the password to the detective while in Dakota County. The detective obtained a search warrant for the contents of the phone, which was sent to the Dakota County Electronic Crimes Task Force for analysis. The detective reviewed the contents of Defendant’s phone and discovered 14 CSAM images of prepubescent children engaging in various sexual acts.

One image depicts a boy approximately 10 years old standing naked while touching his penis to another person’s buttocks. A second image depicts two girls approximately 11-12 years old performing oral sex on a male. The images were sent to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) for identification. On December 17, 2025, the detective received a child [NAME REDACTED], which confirmed one image to be a known victim. The image depicts a prepubescent female exposing her vagina and anus.

Defendant entered a plea and was adjudicated guilty for 1st Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct (Penetration or Contact under 16 – Significant Relationship) on March 2, 2026, in Hennepin County Court File 27-CR-25-21150. Defendant was also previously convicted of 2nd Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct (Victim under 16 – Significant Relationship) on September 2, 2025, in Dakota County Court File 19HA- CR-25-736. The State requests a complaint warrant be issued.
