Fromesa Ahmed Sitina

On September 5, 2025, in Lakeville, Dakota County Minnesota, officers got a report of a theft of checks that had been stolen and cashed. A retirement home resident, Victim 1, had two of her personal checks stolen and cashed. Victim 1 is considered a vulnerable adult. Victim 1’s sister noticed that $2,100 was missing from Victim 1’s checking account. Victim 1’s sister learned that the check was cashed on September 2, 2025, and there was another pending check that was cashed on September 4, 2025, for $1,500. The pending check was canceled, and the transaction was stopped.

The checks for $2,100 and $1,500 were made out to Fromesa Ahmed Sitina (D. O. B. 08/08/2007). During officers’ investigations, they learned that another vulnerable adult, Victim 2, had a check made out to SITINA in the amount of $1,750 on August 31, 2025. The transaction was declined due to insufficient funds. Victim 2 was also a resident of the retirement home. All three stolen checks were attempted to be remotely deposited into an account with the username “Fromesa07”. It was confirmed that this account belonged to SITINA. Officers were able to verify that SITINA was the one accessing the account by reviewing the video footage provided by the bank and comparing it to SITINA’s DVS photo.

SITINA was an employee at the retirement home at the time that the checks were taken and cashed. On December 2, 2025, officers were able to speak to SITINA over the phone and he admitted to working at the retirement home during the incidents and to delivering meals into Victim 1’s room. When asked why the stolen checks were in his bank account, SITINA told officers that he was pleading the 5th.
