On December 17, 2025, at approximately 2:00 A.M., Crow Wing County Sheriff's Deputy Thesing observed a vehicle, MN plate # [PLATE REDACTED], with a non-illuminated license plate travelling on East River Road at a location in the City of Brainerd, Crow Wing County, State of Minnesota. Deputy Thesing ran the license plate on the vehicle and it came back expired in October of 2025. Deputy Thesing followed the vehicle and observed it drive straight through a right turn only intersection. Deputy Thesing activated the lights on his squad and stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as CLB. The adult female in the front passenger seat was identified as April Sky Weyaus, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter Defendant.
Deputy Thesing ultimately placed CLB under arrest for suspicion of DWI. Deputy Thesing spoke with the defendant and she admitted to smoking fentanyl approximately three hours before the time of the traffic stop. Deputy Thesing asked for and was given consent to search the defendant's person. Deputy Thesing located a tinfoil bundle in the defendant's jacket that contained a white crystal like substance that weighed.3 grams and field tested positive for methamphetamine which is a schedule II controlled substance.
Officer Gleason located a tinfoil bundle on the front seat passenger floorboard that contained a powdery substance. The substance weighed.2 grams and field tested positive for fentanyl which is a schedule II controlled substance. Deputy Thesing spoke with the defendant after read her the Miranda warning. She admitted the methamphetamine located in her jacket pocket was hers.
