Officers received an after-action report of a domestic disturbance that took place at a residence in the City of South Saint Paul, County of Dakota, State of Minnesota. Officers spoke with the victim [NAME REDACTED] had been in a relationship with SHELDON LEE HASKINS [DOB REDACTED] since September and were together in the early morning hours of April 5, 2026. The victim told officers that both she and HASKINS has been drinking that night. The victim [NAME REDACTED] on her computer when HASKINS launched at her, pushed her out of the chair, and then punched her in the face with a closed fist.
The victim [NAME REDACTED] was holding her on the ground when she felt blood flowing from her nose. HASKINS then let the victim [NAME REDACTED] was able to go to the bathroom. HASKINS told the victim [NAME REDACTED] called the police that he would lie about what happened. The victim was able to take photographs of her injuries that morning showing her with a cut on her nose as well as blood on her face. On the morning of April 6, the victim went to the hospital and was diagnosed with a broken nose and a chipped tooth.
While speaking with the victim on April 7, officers saw the victim had significant bruising under her eyes, a cut on her nose, bruising on her lower back and leg. The victim also provided officers with text messages exchanged with HASKINS after the assault. In the text messages, the victim stated, “the thud your fist made on my face,” “I heard a thud in my head,” “you chipped my f****** tooth,” and “no remorse at all.” In response, HASKINS stated “1000% I feel terrible” and “nothing to say or do to fix it or change it.” Officers spoke with Witness 1 who was present during the assault.
Witness 1 stated that she heard HASKINS and the victim yelling the morning of April 5. Witness 1 then heard the victim state “Sheldon, I’m bleeding” and “Sheldon, why did you hit me.” HASKINS then came into Witness 1’s room and told her to call someone to pick her up. A search of HASKINS’ criminal history shows a prior conviction for Misdemeanor Violation of a Domestic Abuse No Contact Order on November 13, 2017 in Scott County. Based on the allegations in the Complaint, a warrant is requested in order to ensure HASKINS’ appearance and impose conditions of release sufficient to ensure public safety.
