On December 30, 2025, detectives with the Lakeville Police Department were assigned to investigate numerous thefts from Superior Decks, a business located at [ADDRESS REDACTED], Lakeville, MN 55044, which is within Dakota County. Superior Decks reported that they have a practice of holding excess metal from their buildings in a dumpster, and that this excess metal is collected and recycled, and that Superior Decks is paid for this excess material. Superior Decks further reported that new building materials not stored in the dumpster have also been stolen.

Superior Decks provided law enforcement with the details of the thefts that they knew of. From the information that Superior Decks provided, law enforcement was able to ascertain that: On November 6, 2025, at 8:47 pm, a dark gray sedan entered Superior Decks’ back lot. Excess building materials were then taken out of Superior Decks’ dumpster by a suspect or suspects. On November 21, 2025, at 5:43 am, a dark colored mini van entered Superior Decks’ back lot and a single white male suspect wearing boots, jeans, and a dark hoodie or jacket took excess building materials from the dumpster.

On November 22, 2025, at 4:36 am, a gray SUV entered Superior Decks’ back lot and two white male suspects took excess building materials from the dumpster. On November 23, 2025, at 2:43 am, a dark gray sedan, which was observed to be the same vehicle as was used in the November 6th theft, entered Superior Decks’ back lot and could be seen by the dumpster. At 5:20 am on the same day a white pickup truck was seen entering Superior Decks’ back lot. Two suspects then loaded up the back of the truck with building materials.

Subsequently, at 9:33 pm on the same day, the same dark gray sedan that was used in the November 26th theft again entered Superior Decks’ back lot. A suspect then took a stack of rail leggings valued at $2,000.00 from a pallet located near a semi-trailer. These items were packaged as new product and were not located near the dumpster. Later, at 9:00 pm the same day, a two-toned minivan entered Superior Decks’ back lot and a white male suspect could be seen going through Superior Decks’ dumpster. 2 19HA-CR-26-353 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 3/12/2026 On November 24, 2025, a blue mini van entered Superior Decks’ back lot and a suspect could be seen going through Superior Decks’ dumpster.

On November 25, 2025, at 2:25 am a white pickup truck, determined to be the same as was used in the November 23rd theft, backed into Superior Decks’ back lot. Two suspects then loaded the bed of the truck and the trailer with building materials. The suspects were present on the property for two hours. At 8:00 pm on the same day, a black truck, observed to be bearing MN license plate SYB801 could be seen pulling up to the dumpster in Superior Decks’ back lot. A single suspect, observed to be a white male with a bright blue jacket, then loaded building materials into the bed of the truck from the dumpster.
