On January 9, 2026, officers of the Inver Grove Heights Police Department were dispatched to a report of a domestic assault in the City of Inver Grove Heights, Dakota County, Minnesota. The caller, later identified as Victim 1, reported that he had been assaulted by a male known as “T” and provided a description. Victim 1 reported that “T” was dating Victim 2, who is the mother of Victim 1’s child. Officers arrived and observed that Victim 1 was very distraught. Victim 1 informed officers that “T” had choked Victim 1 and that Victim 1 had lost consciousness three times during the assault.
Officers then spoke with Victim 2 who identified “T” as Teyrione Eddie Harrell, born on [DOB REDACTED]. Victim 2 reported that herself, Victim 1, and Harrell had all been drinking that evening when an argument occurred. During the argument, Harrell knocked a phone out of Victim 1’s hand and then Victim 1 swung at Harrell. Victim 2 reported that Harrell then began strangling Victim 1 and made multiple threats. Victim 2 reported that she believed that Harrell was going to kill Victim 1 and that he was serious about the threats that he made.
Victim 1 provided a statement in which he reported that there had been an argument between himself and Harrell and that Harrell then stated “I’ll f****** kill this *****.” Victim 1 reported that Harrell then threw Victim 2 on a nearby couch and stated that he would kill Victim 2, kill the child of Victim 2, and kill everyone else. Victim 1 reported that he was on the phone with another person at the time and that Harrell charged at Victim 1 and swung at him, which knocked Victim 1’s phone out of his hand.
Victim 1 stated that he believed that Harrell was swinging at him and he punched Harrell. This started a fight in which Harrell was eventually on top of Victim 1 and began to choke Victim 1 by placing his hands around Victim 1’s neck. Victim 1 reported that he lost consciousness three times during this and that he had difficulty breathing. Victim 1 stated that during this time Harrell would stop choking him and then return and continue choking him. Victim 1 reported that he was scared for his life, that he could not breathe or talk and that every time he would attempt to talk to Harrell that Harrell would tell him that he was going to “finish the job.” Officers observed that there were marks on Victim 1’s neck and that along both sides of the neck were small cuts, one of which was approximately one inch long and the other was approximately one quarter of an inch long.
It was also reported that the minor child of Victim 1 and Victim 2 was present at the time of the assault. 2 19HA-CR-26-49 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 1/13/2026 Harrell has a prior conviction for Misdemeanor Domestic Assault under Minnesota Statute 609.2242 in Court File ••-CR-••-•••• with a disposition date of June 12, 2025.
