Probable Cause
On December 6, 2025, an officer from the Eagan Police Department responded to a retail store located in the City of Eagan, within Dakota County, on a report of shoplifting. Upon arrival, an officer spoke with the complainant. She said the two suspects entered the store today, loaded a cart full of merchandise, and pushed it out the front door without paying for it. The unpaid merchandise was loaded into a vehicle bearing MN-SJU030 and the suspects left. The value of the unpaid merchandise was $699.89. Later that day, an officer from the Roseville Police Department saw the suspect vehicle and stopped it.
The driver was identified as Marguerite Louise Scholz [DOB REDACTED], Defendant Scholz herein, and the passenger was identified as Narrisa Washington [DOB REDACTED], Defendant Washington herein. Photographs of Defendant Scholz and Defendant Washington were taken and sent to the Eagan Police Department. Two officers reviewed the photographs and identified the two suspects as Defendant Scholz and Defendant Washington. Defendant Washington was convicted of theft on May 30, 2025 and received a gross misdemeanor sentence for the offense.
