On April 3, 2026, at approximately 9:50 P.M., officers were called to the report of a domestic disturbance at an apartment complex in the City of Eagan, County of Dakota, State of Minnesota. Officers responded and located the victim [NAME REDACTED] in a vehicle. The victim told officers that her boyfriend, ABDIRAHMAN ABDIRASHID MOHAMED [DOB REDACTED], had just driven them to his apartment complex, taken her car keys and went inside his apartment. The victim stated that she and MOHAMED had gone out together earlier in the evening and both of them had been drinking.
While together, they got into a verbal argument. MOHAMED began driving erratically with the victim in the front passenger seat back to his apartment. The victim attempted to stop the car, but MOHAMED held her in her seat with his arm. MOHAMED then grabbed her throat with his hand and squeezed, pushing her into the seat. The victim [NAME REDACTED] was doing this, she could not breathe. After arriving back at the complex, MOHAMED smacked her across the face with an open hand on the right-side twice, took the keys to the vehicle, and went inside.
The victim told officers that since December MOHAMED has become violent with her several times, including strangling her during an incident three days before. The victim [NAME REDACTED] on each occasion MOHAMED would choke her, slap her, and yell in her face. Officers noted that some of the victim’s fingernails were broken, and she had a mark on her arm the victim [NAME REDACTED] from an earlier incident. Officers went to MOHAMED’S apartment and spoke with him. MOHAMED admitted to being with the victim but denied any physical confrontation that evening.
While speaking with MOHAMED, officers noted he was hard to understand and kept repeating himself, even after officers placed him under arrest and stopped their questioning.
