Devon Lee Vanderschaegen

On October 25, 2025, at approximately 4:06 P.M., an officer with the West Saint Paul was working in a uniformed, off-duty capacity at a big-box store located on the 1600 block of Robert Street South, West Saint Paul, Dakota County, Minnesota. While there, the officer watched surveillance footage of a male, later identified as DEVON LEE VANDERSCHAEGEN [DOB REDACTED], select and conceal items of merchandise into a backpack. Footage then revealed VANDERSCHAEGEN attempt to leave the store without paying for the merchandise.

The officer stopped the male, who was wearing a backpack, at the exit doors. The officer directed VANDERSCHAEGEN to the loss prevention office. Once there, the officer searched the backpack and located the merchandise. The merchandise totaled $17.08. The officer also located a baggie containing suspected illegal hallucinogenic mushrooms. The substance inside the baggie later field tested positive for the presence of psilocybin, a Schedule I controlled substance, and weighed approximately 3.84 grams.
