On January 1, 2026, an officer with the Apple Valley Police Department was contacted by a Loss Prevention employee (LP) regarding ongoing thefts occurring at a store in Dakota County. The LP conducted an internal investigation and determined that Ashley Yahaira Chauca [DOB REDACTED], “Defendant” herein, had stolen $2,189 in merchandise dating back to November 19, 2025, while working at the store. The officer obtained surveillance video, which depicted Defendant regularly placing merchandise by her own personal items and then leaving the store with the merchandise at the end of her shift without paying.
