Probable Cause
On April 6, 2026, at 0121 hours, St. Paul police officers responded to 1348 6th Street East, St. Paul, Ramsey County, on a report of damage to property and threats. Officers spoke to JJJG-B, [DOB REDACTED]. She stated that she rents the residence. She had her aunt and the aunt’s boyfriend, Ronald Gene Mays, [DOB REDACTED], over for a visit. The aunt and Mays were drinking. Mays became disorderly, so JJJG-B asked him to leave. He became upset and broke the glass top on a hexagon- shaped table inside the home.
She pushed Mays out of the house and locked the door. He made threatening statements saying that he as “going to shoot up this motherfucking house” and “I’ll smoke y’all.” He broke the front window of the home. Officers arrested Mays at the scene. Mays was intoxicated and uncooperative. He called officers by derogatory names, and he said, “I’m going to kill you.” He was also disorderly and called hospital staff by derogatory names when they treated him for cuts to his hands. The estimated cost to repair or replace the broken table and window exceeds $1000.
