On November 18, 2025, officers of the Hastings Police Department responded to a report of a theft that had occurred on or about the night of November 17, 2025 at a local business in the City of Hastings, Dakota County, Minnesota. The business is a laundromat, and a customer had discovered that their laundry was missing when they attempted to collect it. The owner of the business reported that their store opened at 4:00 am and they were able to review several surveillance photos that showed an individual enter the building before it opened and grab clothes.

The clothes were owned by a worker of a refinery and included fire retardant and specialized clothing that was valued at just over $2,000. Officers circulated a photograph of the suspect, and a Woodbury Police officer reported that they had arrested Kevin Dennis Hass, born on [DOB REDACTED] on November 17, 2025, wearing the same clothing as seen in the surveillance footage.
