Labrentt Stephen Alston

On September 25, 2025, deputies with the Dakota County Sheriff’s office responded to a reported fraud incident having occurred at two bank locations in Castle Rock Township. Deputies spoke with two bank employees, who stated that Labrentt Stephen Alston([DOB redacted]), “Defendant” herein, cashed two fraudulent checks that day. Defendant cashed a check in the amount of $2,500 at the first bank location. Approximately fifteen minutes later, Defendant cashed a check in the amount of $2,935 at the second bank location.

Deputies spoke with the check owner, “Victim” herein, who stated that he did not write the checks, and that he had put six checks in the mail to pay his bills two days prior. For the purpose of establishing intent, knowledge, absence of mistake or accident, and common scheme or plan, the State intends to introduce evidence that Defendant was charged with Check Forgery in Morrison County Court File ••-CR-••-•••• following an identical incident that occurred on September 26, 2025.
