On December 6, 2025, at approximately 3:31 A.M., a police officer responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a residence in South St. Paul, Dakota County, Minnesota. The reporting party (hereinafter “Victim”) advised that a male had broken into his residence and was going through the refrigerator. Prior to the police officer’s arrival, the suspect was removed from the home. The police officer arrested the suspect and identified him as HUGO HERNANDEZ LARA ([DOB REDACTED]). A search of HERNANDEZ LARA’s person revealed a gray insulin pen.
The insulin pen was later determined to have been taken from the refrigerator. Victim gave a statement. Victim [NAME REDACTED] in the residence with his sister. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was laying down in his bedroom when his sister shouted that someone was in the home. Victim then went out to the kitchen area and saw HERNANDEZ LARA. Victim pushed HERNANDEZ LARA out of the home. Victim could not recall if the front door was locked or unlocked before the burglary. Victim [NAME REDACTED] insulin pen belonged to him.
