On November 3, 2025, at 11:20 A.M., the Crosslake Police Department was dispatched to a damage to property at Tremolo Communications, Crosslake, Crow Wing County, Minnesota. Officer Cody Haines arrived on scene and Sergeant Tony Marks responded to assist. Sergeant Marks spoke with the complainant, JE (fully identified in the police reports). JE explained that she had been inside the business when she observed a female, later identified as Wanda Jane Grecula [DOB REDACTED] exit her vehicle and "key" JE's vehicle.
JE stated she confronted Grecula who denied keying JE's car. JE explained that it had apparently stemmed from an incident that occurred in the round about. Grecula felt that JE had failed to yield right of way. There was no reported contact between the two vehicles. JE then arrived at Tremolo while Grecula apparently followed her. Sergeant Marks continued speaking with JE while Officer Haines spoke with Grecula. Sergeant Marks asked Grecula for her keys. Grecula turned and looked at the vehicle in apparent reluctance to produce her keys.
Grecula then handed Sergeant Marks a key fob for her push to start vehicle, the key fob was on a key ring that also had two house style keys. Sergeant Marks observed two scratches on the front quarter panel of JE's vehicle which appeared consistent with the two house style keys. Sergeant Marks observed fresh paint "powder" on JE's vehicle consistent with the scratching of paint and clear coat. Grecula explained JE had "cut her off" in the round about and Grecula stated she "lost her temper." Grecula admitted she followed JE to Tremolo to confront her about the driving conduct.
Grecula stated when she arrived she walked past JE's vehicle. Grecula stated "I walked past, and I probably did key her car." Officer Haines obtained video footage of the incident and it appeared that Grecula intentionally used her keys to scratch JE's vehicle. JE had an appointment at Shannon's Autobody the following day for an unrelated repair. JE provided the Crosslake Police Department a quote for $1,567.30 to repair the damage done by Grecula.
