Jason Owen Palmer

On December 30, 2025 in South Saint Paul, Dakota County, Minnesota, officers responded to a report of theft from a local restaurant. Surveillance video shows a man entering the store with a key at 3:00am—no one else was in the building at this time. The man takes money out of the register, takes a case of soda, and leaves the restaurant. An employee of the restaurant positively identified the man in the video as JASON OWEN PALMER [DOB REDACTED]. The employee also stated that PALMER used to work at the restaurant and never returned his key to the restaurant after he left.

Officers found PALMER at his residence later that morning. In a post-Miranda interview, PALMER admitted to entering the restaurant on December 30th using his key and stealing both cash and a case of “Starry” brand pop. A search of PALMER’s house revealed cash in the same amount and in the same bill denominations as was reported stolen from the restaurant, as well as Starry brand soda cans where PALMER stated he left them—in his kitchen and bedroom.
